Who am I?
My name is Dr Harpreet Singh. I am an academic with degrees in history, law, religion, and engineering, as well as additional teaching qualifications. I have studied at the University of California, the University of Otago, the University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology, and Manukau Institute of Technology. My research has been published in books and journals across Europe, the USA, and New Zealand. My family has lived in New Zealand for over 120 years, making us one of the earliest Indian families to settle here through the British Empire. I have experience working in diverse environments, including business, government, and research, which has given me a broad range of skills. I am based in South Auckland, where I have lived my entire life.
I started this Substack because I could no longer remain silent while democracy is under threat. Although I have not previously engaged in politics, this platform marks a turning point for me. Through my writing, I strive to speak the truth and make it accessible in an era of widespread misinformation. I hope you find honesty and value in my words. I hope you find honesty and value in my words. I do not get paid to post, and I do not make any money from this content. I write it because it’s the right thing to do.
Online, I am based in the Facebook Group Aotearoa New Zealand History, a safe space free from hate or racism. You will find me most active here.
